You woke up again at 6 am and it’s Sunday morning. If you are a chronic early riser and live in Bangkok City, the probability of going out and enjoying the weekend would have to be an elaborate one. But Bangkok never disappoints anyone, not even early birds who want to be out and about for a fun weekend. Going out on weekends in Bangkok doesn’t spell extravagance. You can do many activities within your budget.

Here are four activities in the Asok area for Bangkok’s early risers which are bound to keep you engaged from morning until evening.

Go for a walk in the park

    1. Morning walk in Benjasiri Park

If you are looking for a tranquil place to relax and walk around on a Sunday morning, Benjasiri Park is the ideal place to start your Sunday morning. The park is located in the heart of Bangkok city, just a few minutes’ walk from Phrom Phong BTS station. Lush green perfectly manicured trees and bushes surround the park, offering some clean, fresh unpolluted air. You will find urban joggers, yoga enthusiasts, skateboarders and elderly citizens engaged in their own activities.

In the center of the park there is a lake where you will find many turtles and fish which seem to attract many young children. If you don’t like walking and wandering around, you can always take your book and find a place to sit and catch up with your reading. A bag of sandwiches or crackers would always come handy if you decide to have a mini-breakfast there.

    2. Visit Dasa Books Store

If you want to be in a book heaven, then Dasa Books Café is the perfect place to be on a weekend. This three-floored bookstore located between Sukumvit Soi 26 and 28 offers used books in great conditions. You can spend hours here going through extensive collection of books from travel to novels.

The best deal about being here is that the staff and the owners, besides being extremely welcoming, don’t mind you browsing and reading as long as you want. But the greatest deal is that you can also sell your old books there. You can buy or sell a book, have coffee and read your book without any qualms. Now, that’s a deal you wouldn’t want to miss. They stay open daily from 10 am till 8 pm and they never close for any holidays!

    3. Lunch at Terminal 21

It’s almost noon and your tummy is rumbling. Head straight to Terminal 21 Mall on Sukumvit Soi 19. On the 5th floor you will find Pier 21 Food Court which offers delicious food at an overwhelmingly cheap price. There is a great selection of Asian foods to choose from which are also made fresh to order. You can get a prepaid food card and use it in any of the stalls except in franchise restaurants like KFC.

Most of the dishes cost between 30 to 50 Thai Baht. You can have a 3-course meal for 100 baht! As many visitors who go there often say, “Look no further than Terminal 21 Food Court.” Pier 21 Food court will never disappoint you. The mall is located right in front of Asok BTS Station.

    4. Play pool at Hustlers Bangkok

Everyone watches movies, goes shopping and clubbing but it takes someone venturesome to try something out of the ordinary. Why not try shooting some pool at Hustlers Bangkok, located only a 5-minutes walk from Asok BTS, in the basement of Times Square Building?
